'We're here because we're here' Thursday 7th September 2017 to Wednesday 27th September 2017

An exhibition that documents 'We're here because we're here', an event that took place on 1st July 2016, where thousands of volunteers participated in a UK-wide contemporary memorial to mark the centenary of the Battle of the Somme.

Commissioned by 14-18 NOW, the UK's arts programme for the First World War centenary, the work was conceived and created by Turner Prize-winning artist Jeremy Deller in collaboration with Rufus Norris, Director of the National Theatre.

Produced by Birmingham Repertory Theatre and the National Theatre, in collaboration with 23 UK theatres including The Playhouse.
